Basin Radio Yacht Club. Sail one meter Solings on St Georges Basin. Club details
19th July 2016. Despite drifter conditions we had 16 boats turn up for racing. Frustrating at times but all very happy to be on the water in mid winter.
Basin Radio Yacht Club Notice of Annual General Meeting.

Hi All,
The following is for your information:
1    Confirming - there will be no sailing on ANZAC DAY (Tuesday the 25th of April 2017)
2    Members are advised ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP FEE is now due. Remains. $35.00 {Membership A$ 15, NSWRYA Fee $ 20)
3    The ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING meeting will now NOT be held Saturday 27th May 2017.
Because of a number of Committee members being unable to attend on the 27th, the Executive has decided that it would be preferable if the AGM Meeting be held next TUESDAY 23rd May (we are aware that this may not be in accordance with Constitution but hope Members will accept) after racing.
Should the weather be unsuitable for sailing, then the meeting will be held at Ron Elphinstone's Garage commencing a 1.30pm, a sausage sizzle will still be held.
Apology for the late notice,

Notice of Motions
A. That Clause 12 be changed by adding "Classes of boats other than the Soling be allowed to sail with Basin radio Yacht Club on Saturdays
B. On hnadicap and scratch races days a maximum of 10 races (heats) be held with 8 tyo count. Any races held after the completion of the maximum of 10 are not to be included in the point score for the day.

4    NOTICE OF MOTION and APPLICATION FOR COMMITTEE OFFICE BEARER,should be sent/handed to Secretary as per Club Rules.
Hoping for a good roll up Saturday next (the 29th of April) and suitable weather, hopefully with news re Pontoon etc.
Kevin Wingate - Secretary.

The 2016 NSW Sate Soling 1M Championships were held on the weekend of the 19th and 20th of March 2016
Blustery conditions greeted the fleet of 15 entrants on the Saturday. However races started at 10:30am and as the morning progressed the conditions eased a little. After lunch the wind had swung to a true southerly and wind speeds had picked up to 12 to 14 knots.
A total of 10 races were completed
On the Sunday we were again greeted by blustery winds with speeds up to 14 knots at the start. By the end of the first race wind speeds had come up so only the one race was held. A wind measurement taken after all boats were out of the water (11:00am)  had an average wind speed of 18 knots. No wonder a lot of surfing was undertaken down wind in that first race. At 12 noon the average wind had dropped to 16 knots but by 12:15 it was back up to an average of 20 knots and building. Further racing was cancelled giving a total of 11 races with 9 to count.

The Basin Radio Yacht Club Inc

The Basin Radio Yacht Club is a group of like minded yachting individuals who relish the sailing and competition of radio controlled yachts.

We mainly race from the Jetty at the end of Island Point Road, St Georges Basin, near Nowra on the South Coast of NSW.

Basin Radio Yacht Club members look forward to sailing every Tuesday and Saturday and enjoy the social friendship that has developed within the group around the sailing of Soling one metre yachts

We only sail the Soling One Metre Class Yacht as it keeps the competition even. The Solings are purchased in kit form and have all been assembled by their owners

We have gained much experience in Sailing and building and are able to help with advice and where to purchase Soling kits and components. Interested? Talk to some of our club members. Ask for a brochure
